Orange County Sleep Center

If you are encountering sleep problems, you may want to consider getting a Tustin Sleep Apnea Study done to determine if you suffer from Sleep Apnea. The duration of sleep required by each individual varies by age and genetics and is generally categorized as adequate when the person does not suffer from any daytime drowsiness or dysfunction. For those that go through regular unfulfilled sleep sessions they endure these symptoms and more. Your sleep disruption could be caused by Sleep Apnea. The experienced staff REM Sleep Labs understands the frustration caused by a lack of sleep, and they are specially trained to identify your problem and provide a possible solution. Get a Tustin Sleep Apnea Study today if you think you may be suffering from sleep apnea.

People can suffer from over 100 different types of sleeping and waking disorders, or a combination of these issues. Generally speaking these problems are divided into four groups:

  • Issues with falling or staying asleep
  • Difficulty staying awake, or daytime drowsiness
  • Problems with sleep rhythm
  • Abnormal behavior during sleep, such as sleep walking

Your observations, or those of your sleeping partner, have been discussed with a primary care provider and you now have the required referral for specialized sleep testing. The professionals at Orange County Sleep Center are ready to help test, diagnose, and treat your sleep related problems.

To begin the process, there will be a detailed consultation to discuss in depth any medical history with or without a physical examination, normal daily activities, and sleeping arrangements. This will include minute details such as eating and drinking habits, temperature of the room being slept in, bedding materials, and much more.

Once the date has been arranged to have the polysomnogram at the Orange County Sleep Center, you will be encouraged to bring with you any items that you typically use for sleep. These items may be stuffed animals, night clothing, a book, and if you are particular about your pillow feel free to bring it with you. The room that will be used for the study is similar to what you would expect from a standard hotel room. There will also be a camera and an intercom system if you need to speak with a technician.

You will have a number of sensors attached to your skin, as well as a clip on finger sensor, these do not hurt. The process of a sleep study is strictly observational, there is nothing invasive performed. You will simply need to sleep as you normally would on a regular day. The technicians at Orange County Sleep Center will be monitoring several things at once while you rest. These things will include items such as:

  • Brain activity
  • Eye movements
  • Respirations
  • Cardiac activity
  • Blood oxygen levels
